CHELWICK
Growth is inevitable, but how we manage it makes all the difference. Waxahachie deserves a thoughtful, transparent and responsible approach to development—one that plans ahead, protects our quality of life, and ensures our infrastructure keeps pace with our growth.
Responsible Growth. Strong Relationships. A Thriving Waxahachie. A thriving city doesn't happen by accident. It takes thoughtful planning, responsible growth, and, most importantly, trust between city leadership, residents, and the business community. Growth brings opportunity, new businesses, jobs, housing, and an expanded tax base. But growth must be managed responsibly. We must look beyond today's development and consider how decisions will affect our roads, water infrastructure, public safety, schools, parks, and overall quality of life for generations to come. Just as important is building trust with the people who call Waxahachie home and the business owners who invest in our community. Trust begins with listening, communicating openly, following through on commitments, and treating people with respect. Residents deserve a voice in decisions that affect their neighborhoods, and business owners deserve a transparent, predictable process that allows them to invest, grow, and create jobs. When citizens feel heard and businesses feel supported, we create an environment where people want to put down roots, entrepreneurs want to invest, and families can build their futures. Prosperity isn't measured by growth alone. It's measured by how well we manage that growth, how responsibly we use public resources, and whether the people who live and work here can share in the benefits. Waxahachie's future should be built on a foundation of responsible leadership, open communication, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to preserving what makes our city special while preparing for the opportunities ahead. Because a stronger Waxahachie starts with trust and grows through thoughtful decisions that put our community's long term future first.
I love the City of Waxahachie and the people who call it home. When I came to this community, you welcomed me with open arms and surrounded me with kindness, compassion, and love during one of the most difficult times in my life. I will never forget that. Waxahachie has become more than a place to live. It is a community that has shown me the true meaning of caring for your neighbors, showing up for one another, and making people feel like they belong. My gratitude for this city and its people runs deep. Waxahachie holds a special place in my heart, and I am honored to call it home. Thank you, Waxahachie, for welcoming me, lifting me up, and reminding me what community truly means. Now it is my turn to show up for everyone who calls this amazing city home. When elected, my one and only special interest will be YOU and fighting for the things that will continue to make our city vibrant and prosperous while protecting everything that will ensure Waxahachie maintains all of our hometown traditions and charm.
A thriving Waxahachie begins with a community where families feel safe, first responders have the resources they need, and every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Public safety must remain a priority. Our police officers, firefighters, and EMS professionals serve on the front lines every day, protecting our families, responding in times of crisis, and keeping our community moving forward. They deserve our support, the proper training and equipment, and the resources necessary to do their jobs effectively. As our city grows, we must plan ahead to ensure our public safety services can grow with it. Equally important is investing in the future of our children. Strong schools are essential to a strong community. By building a collaborative relationship with the Waxahachie Independent School District, we can work together to understand the needs of our growing community and advocate for modern learning environments, exceptional teachers, and opportunities that prepare students for success—whether that means college, technical training, entrepreneurship, or entering the workforce. Our teachers deserve to feel supported and valued, and our children deserve classrooms that inspire curiosity, encourage creativity, and help them discover their potential. Every student should have the opportunity to learn, grow, and pursue a future without limits. While the city and school district have distinct responsibilities, collaboration and open communication can help us plan responsibly for growth, coordinate where appropriate, and address the needs of families across our community. When we support those who protect us and invest in those who will lead us, we strengthen Waxahachie for generations to come. Our goal should be a city where families feel secure, educators feel appreciated, and every child has the opportunity to build a bright future right here at home.
